Thanks to Amazon and Postmates, everyone’s jumping on the delivery bandwagon. The convenience of not having to run an errand after a long day at work is enticing; that’s why subscription boxes have become the newest trend and why they’re picking up speed. You can get a subscription box for anything—fashion, beauty, health, pets, kids, and cooking—and have it delivered right to your door every month. While this seems like an obvious choice, it’s important to make sure a box is right for you before subscribing, especially when it comes to fitness needs and preferences. That’s why we made this: a review of the five best fitness subscription boxes for women, divided into five categories: General Wellness, Workout Gear, Hardcore Fitness, Yoga, and Vitamins/Supplements.
FabFitFun
Check PriceFabFitFun was founded in 2010 and has taken off ever since. It works seasonally—you get a new box four times a year, each one geared towards the upcoming season. Inside, you’ll find 8-10 full-sized products for health, beauty, home, and fitness. The secret to FabFitFun’s success is the full-sized products; other subscription boxes in the same genre send samples and then offer links or some discounts to buying the larger product. And FabFitFun is only $50 per box! This makes budgeting for the month much easier. Overall, I am very satisfied with FabFitFun. It’s a great value for the money, and I love getting to try full-sized products that I otherwise wouldn’t know about or buy on my own. Their customer service is also unparalleled: they offer FabFitFunTV, which includes work-out videos and exclusive member sales.
Fabletics
Check PriceWith Fabletics, founded by Kate Hudson, you receive a shipment monthly. You don’t have to be a member to shop here, but you save exponentially more if you are. After your first purchase as a VIP member, you’ll be eligible to purchase an outfit (top, bottom, and/or sports bra) starting at $49 each, every month. It’s free to become a VIP member, but you must do something every month—you can buy an outfit or skip the month. If you don’t do one of these two things, your credit card will be charged $49, which then becomes store credit.
Shoppers use Fabletics because of its flexibility. You don’t have to pay monthly if you don’t want to; you can skip as many as you want or cancel anytime. But, when you do have the cash to spend, you can access great savings every month.
However, despite the massive savings and quality workout gear, customer service at Fabletics is notorious for charging credit cards long after they’ve been deleted from the profile. I personally found the monthly cost to be too expensive and inconvenient, so I cancelled my membership after a few months. In order to cancel my account, I had to call their customer service line and negotiate with the representative to cancel.
Gainz Box
Check PriceGainz Box is a monthly box of premium fitness apparel, equipment, supplements, and snacks and is designed for women with specific, intense fitness goals, like mega-lifting and benching, Crossfit, etc. It can be billed monthly at $32/month plus $7 shipping, but if you subscribe for six months or a year at a time, you get generous discounts.
This subscription box is tailored to women who set fitness goals that are often more ambitious than the average. Products include pre-workout protein powder, sweat towels, organic protein shakes, and Crossfit gear. Their boxes are always humorous—this company knows how to laugh at itself while still bringing the best products to my home. Every box of mine has had a consistent retail value of $75+.
YogiSurprise
Check PriceYogiSurprise is the perfect fitness box for yoga-fanatics. With an $85+ retail value in every box, you pay $44.99 per month plus free shipping. Their products are always non-GMO and cruelty-free. Each month’s box is themed and offers a variety of things, from pure essential oils, natural skincare and bodycare products, candles, and intention-setting crystals to books, journals, and other yoga accessories. Most surprising about YogiSurprise is their commitment to quality and their values as a company. As part of their No Action Too Small campaign, they’ve begun working with the Yoga on High Foundation to support those with a dream of becoming a yoga teacher without the funds to do it. I have never had a problem or complaint about my YogiSurprise box; I use everything in it for both yoga and barre classes.
BuluBox
Check PriceBuluBox is a monthly box containing 4-5 premium vitamin and supplement nutrition samples. It’s designed to introduce people to the benefits of vitamins and supplements by giving them the opportunity to try the products before buying them in full-size. Good news: it’s only $10/month! So, while the products are only sample-sized, I’m not spending too much to get a taste of something I can buy in full later. This is what makes BuluBox so attractive. I only tried BuluBox once, and when I wished to cancel the subscription, the customer service was excellent and professional.
